How do you deal with having tried to die and having failed? How do people around you respond?
They’re scared, of hurting you again, of doing anything that could tempt you to go over the edge.
They’re cautious; you see it in their eyes.
They’re tired; you’re hard work, you keep them alert and careful and guilty, always on the lookout for telltale signs.
They’re glad. That you’re here. Pleased with themselves for having got to you on time. Perhaps thankful to God.
Irritated, for having given you all they could and being told in such a way that it wasn’t enough at all. That they failed. What more could you ask for? What is it that you lack and want? Why couldn’t you simply ask?
But that’d never been one of your options.
Right:)
